10 keys to success
This roundtable is a presentation of European project that comprises several institutions responsible for the prevention of occupational risks (some also for rehabilitation and compensation) from different countries (Austria, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Switzerland) – over 500.000 member enterprises, over 5 mio. employees insured – are working together to improve OSH-prevention activities in SMEs, in particular small and very small enterprises.
The project has gathered experiences and principles from successful small companies around the world that are productive and look after the safety and health of their workers. These (good practice) principles are widely applicable, irrespective of country, culture, type of work. They are inspired by the values and experiences of experts from different countries in prevention of occupational risks who work with enterprises every day. The result is disseminated widely in the form of 10 keys that constitutes the framework for classifying good practice examples into different arenas of activity.
The roundtable will be initiated by to presentation of '10 Keys to success – Ten recommendations to make a company successful Enterprises' (Hans-Juergen Bischoff). A special focus will then be given to the key note on 'Preventing occupational injuries and diseases improves not only the performance of individual workers but also the competitiveness of a company' (Peter Rüdin and Hans-Juergen Bischoff). How can we analyse the performance indicators and develop relevant cost calculators?
Invited guests from Technical University of Denmark will comment on the results before a general discussion of the project will be opened.
